Wreath Making Workshop

I will be holding my annual Christmas wreath making session on Sunday 17th December from 2:00 until 4:00pm (at 2, Victoria Road, Linslade, LU7 2NT). This is a lovely social occasion where we are able to chat and create at the same time. I have devised a simple way to make wreaths using circles of ivy hazel or willow to make the base of the wreath, with holly and other greenery tied in to it. I provide all natural materials and I have some ribbons and bits to decorate the finished product. If you want particular colours of ribbon etc. please bring your own.

This is also a good opportunity to trade so if you have anything you wish to trade please bring it with you.

The cost is 2 buzzards per wreath making person. Refreshments are provided and children are very welcome.

If you are interested, contact Jane (118) on 01525 370250 or stringallj@yahoo.com

Bring and Share Meal

Linslade Community Hall (attached to St Barnabas Church) has been booked for lunch time on 28th January for a ‘bring and share’ meal. This will include opportunities to trade. More details will be sent out closer to the date.

Past Events

One Friday night in November nine Letsbuzz members gathered at the Mevan restaurant on Lake Street in Leighton Buzzard for a delicious Turkish meal.

Although the restaurant was very busy, and all the staff were rushed off their feet, the waiters couldn’t have been more attentive. The food was excellent and the service was prompt.

It was a great opportunity to meet other members and everyone enjoyed the evening – thank you Jean for organising it.

We’re always looking for new places to go for these social events so if you want to recommend somewhere for us to meet for a meal or want to organise it yourself, please don’t hesitate. It doesn’t have to be a Friday or in the evening; choose a time and day which suits you.

Wine Tasting at Bob and Jane’s house Friday 6 October 2017

Who knew wine tasting could be not only delicious but so much fun?

Thanks to Jane and Bob for the idea and setting up the occasion.

A group of us tasted nine wines (labels obscured or removed and numbered) from six countries on three continents as diverse as England and China with France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Australia among them. The tastings were ‘blind’, so no-one knew the wine (except the one we each brought) and Jane had devised a pro forma for us to list bottle number, country of origin, grape variety and a final column headed ‘Do you like it?’

There were some surprises both pleasant and disappointing,

After the tastings and the bottle unveiling, we sat with cake (thanks again, Jane) and tea and a most delicious English dessert wine (thanks Doreen and Rory).

A very jolly and enjoyable evening that we all hope will be repeated.

Trading Day at Jean’s

On Sunday 17 September Jean hosted a plant and garden produce trading afternoon. This was very well attended. There was a good variety of plants and also tips on how to look after them. There was also garden produce including pears, grapes and courgettes.

It was a really enjoyable afternoon, thank you Jean.
