Minutes of the open meeting Monday 5th June
At Christine’s house

Maters arising from previous minutes
A message has been sent out to all members telling us that the ‘direct debit’ has been activated and that we will now pay 1 buzzard a month subscription instead one payment of 12 buzzards.
Sonja had offered to write something for the Leighton Buzzard Observer a few months ago. Rosemary said that she would speak to Sonja and suggest that they try to write something together.
Officers’ Reports
Sterling: there is no change to the sterling account.
Membership: Bob reported that Hazel (189) has left as she has moved away from Leighton Buzzard.
Facebook: Sue said that she had put some of the newsletter on Facebook. She has had a message from one member concerning joining the Letsbuzz Facebook group to which she has replied explaining that our Facebook page is a public page and as such there is no need to join. Sue has also added Jane (118) and Jean (82) as administrators (they both hope they won’t be called to do anything!)
Role of Chair and Contact Person
It was agreed at the AGM that, as no one volunteered to be coordinator, we would have a contact person (Jean 82) and take it in turns to host the meetings. Jean has confirmed that she is the person to contact if you want to send a message to the members of Letsbuzz (for a social event for example). She has also volunteered to compile and send out the agendas for Open Meetings.
Events
Jane will talk to Caroline (228) about having an event aimed at helping people with Cyclos (buzzards will be paid for her time if she is able to do so)
A walk is being organised by Rosemary on 9th July: Jean will send out a message about it closer to the date.
On 23rd July (1 -5pm), MK Letnet are having a ‘Taster Day’ and Letsbuzz members are invited.
There will be a Letsbuzz picnic on 20th August at Parsons Close.
Jean will host a plant share on 17th Sept.
Jane will host a wine tasting evening in October (exact date to be confirmed next month). People to take a bottle of wine, with the label removed and taken separately. WE taste the wine and try to match it to the label.
Newsletter
Jean has edited the newsletter and Christine has distributed it. Thanks were given to both.
