Matters Arising

The Bring and Share Meal held on 22 January was a great success and we agreed that in due course we would organise another one.

Soulbury Millennium Green Quiz on Saturday 25 February: Jane informed us that those attending could pay at the door.

Coordinator post: Jane had sent an email about this but not everyone had seen it so she agreed to circulate it again.

Newsletter: Jane circulated copies of the latest newsletter to those at the meeting and we all agreed that Valerie had done a splendid job of producing it, and recorded our thanks.

Officers’ Reports

Membership  – no change

Facebook – Sue reported that she has continued to post letsbuzz events on our facebook page and would add an edited version of the newsletter (removing personal contact details).

Sterling  treasurer – Sonja reported the current balance is £274.77

Buzzard treasurer – the last month's trades had mainly been in relation to the Bring and share meal (payment for the meal and trading on the day)

Co-ordinator  - nothing to report.

AGM

Jean confirmed that she had booked the Friends Meeting House for 2.00-4.00pm on

Saturday 29th April.

Jane reported that Graham had agreed to give a talk on Hemplets and Lizzie has agreed to provide scones and jam. Jane will provide tea, coffee, soft drinks and cream.

Sonja will ask Dave to audit the accounts in time for the meeting.

Events

1. Murder mystery evening, Sat 18 March. Sue has provided Jane with further details to be circulated.

2. River walk and lunch, Sunday 9 July, from 11am. Rosemary suggested that those interested could meet at her flat in Town Bridge Mill for a walk along the river and canal, followed by lunch at the Globe Pub and then tea & coffee at her flat. We agreed to circulate a reminder email nearer the time, and that it might be necessary to book a table, depending on numbers.

3. Bring and share picnic - another possible summer event - no date yet. Would anyone like to organise this?

Publicity

Jane reported that Hemplets have a system for rewarding members who recruit new people by paying them 12 Hemps. We agreed that we might try something similar in letsbuzz and that we should discuss this at the AGM.

Sonia agreed to write a paragraph about letsbuzz for the community Groups section of the LB Observer.

Any other business

Cyclos: several members have had some difficulty using Cyclos. We agreed that one-to -one support would be more useful that trying to explain this at a meeting. Jane has offered a support session to two members.

Newsletter: We agreed to continue with a print newsletter and Jean agreed to produce the next issue which will be distributed in May.

We also discussed newsletter production costs (ink, paper, printing etc) and agreed that it would be useful to agree a set amount, in sterling or buzzards, for anyone who takes on the task of producing an issue of the newsletter. Jean agreed to investigate printing and photocopying costs and bring some figures to the AGM for consideration.

Buzzard cheque books: Rosemary asked if these were still in use. Jane agreed to provide one, and Jean also thought she might still have one. (Does anyone else have a spare buzzard cheque book?)
